Eli Van Etten, vice president of Van Etten Oil in Monticello, has been elected president of the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council effective Jan. 1.

He replaces Joe D'Aprile of Woodstock, a Thermo Pride representative. Other officers elected were: Dave Davenport of Middletown, vice president; Bonnie Lulay, A&J Hometown Oil/Larson's, secretary; and Ralph R. Mills of Abott and Mills, treasurer. 

The Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council is an all-volunteer organization made up of dealers and those who do business with the dealers in Sullivan, Ulster, Orange, Rockland, Dutchess, and Putnam counties. 

The Council works to provide training and make consumers aware of the advantages of modern oil heat. In addition the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council sponsors a $2000.00 scholarship each year for the child of an employee of a Hudson Valley oil heat dealer.
